Frequently Asked Questions

How do I print on an envelope at home?

Design your envelope, then click Download PDF. The PDF is sized to match your envelope exactly. In your printer settings, select the matching envelope size and feed the envelope into the manual or rear tray. Most printers accept envelopes face-up with the flap on the left.

What envelope sizes are supported?

20 sizes in four categories. Business: #10, #9, #6¾, Monarch, #11, #12, #14. Cards & Invitations: A1, A2, A4, A6, A7, A8, A9, A10. Catalog: 6×9, 9×12, 10×13. International: DL, C5. Each one generates a print-ready PDF at the exact dimensions.

Can I use my own handwriting font?

Yes! Create a font from your handwriting with FontCrafter, then drag and drop the font file onto EnvelopeCrafter. Your handwriting applies to both addresses instantly.

Can I add a QR code or logo?

Yes to both. Enable the QR code in the Design tab and enter any URL — great for wedding RSVPs or business sites. Drop a logo file (SVG, PNG, JPG) onto the logo area and adjust its size and opacity.

Is this really free?

Completely free. No signup, no watermarks, no limits. Everything runs in your browser — no data is sent to any server. Unlike Canva or goEnvelope, you also get custom fonts, themes, QR codes, and logos.

What is the standard business envelope size?

The #10 envelope (4.125×9.5 inches) is the US standard for business mail. It fits a standard letter folded into thirds. EnvelopeCrafter defaults to this size.

Can I save and reuse my design?

Yes. Click Save Design in the Export tab to download a JSON file. Load it later to restore your addresses, fonts, colors, and layout. Perfect for business stationery you print regularly.

Do square envelopes require extra postage?

Yes. USPS charges a non-machinable surcharge for square envelopes because they can't go through automated sorting. All sizes in EnvelopeCrafter are rectangular and meet USPS machinable standards.

Can I save my addresses for next time?

Yes. Use the Address Book in the Addresses tab. Save your return and recipient addresses, then Export Book to download a JSON file. Import it next time to load all your addresses instantly. The file is portable — keep it on your desktop or a USB drive.

Can I print a batch of envelopes with different addresses?

Yes! Enable Batch Mode in the Addresses tab. Add addresses one at a time with "+ Add Current," pull them from your Address Book with "+ All from Book," or paste a block of addresses at once. Each address shows as a card you can preview or remove. Click Print All Envelopes to generate a multi-page PDF — one envelope per page.
