Convert between HEIC, PSD, SVG, JPG, PNG, WebP, TIFF, PDF, ICO, QOI, and more — right in your browser. Your files never leave your device. Drop images to convert instantly, rotate and flip, resize for social media, inspect metadata, combine images into multi-page PDFs, then download individually or as a ZIP.
Built for anyone who needs images in a different format — without uploading personal files to some random server.
No. Everything runs locally in your browser using JavaScript and WebAssembly. Your files never leave your device — you can even convert offline after the page loads.
What formats can I convert from?
Convertacle accepts HEIC, JPG, JFIF, PNG, WebP, AVIF, GIF, BMP, TIFF, PSD, and SVG as input. Basically any image your browser can display, plus HEIC, TIFF, and PSD via built-in decoders.
What formats can I convert to?
JPG, PNG, WebP, AVIF, TIFF, PDF, ICO, GIF, BMP, and QOI. AVIF output depends on your browser — Chrome and Firefox support it, Safari does not yet. QOI is an ultra-fast lossless format supported by GIMP, ImageMagick, and FFmpeg. You can also combine multiple images into a single multi-page PDF.
Is there a file limit?
No. Convert as many files as you want. The only limit is your device's memory. For very large batches (500+), your browser may slow down — process them in groups of 100-200 for best results.
What happens to my metadata?
By default, Convertacle strips all metadata (including GPS coordinates) for privacy. You can toggle this off in the settings panel (gear icon) to preserve metadata, but note that converting through canvas inherently loses some Apple-specific data like depth maps and Live Photo sequences.
Why is my AVIF option grayed out?
AVIF encoding support varies by browser. Chrome 95+ and Firefox 113+ support it. Safari and some mobile browsers don't yet. If it's unavailable, try Chrome.
Can I paste images from my clipboard?
Yes! Press Ctrl+V (or Cmd+V on Mac) anywhere on the page to paste screenshots or copied images directly into the converter.
How does multi-page PDF work?
Convert your images in any format, then click the "Multi-Page PDF" button in the batch bar. All selected images are combined into a single PDF document, one image per page, each sized to fit its image dimensions. Great for combining vacation photos, scanned documents, or presentation materials into one file.
